He has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. His research activities focus on the development processes and sustainability challenges of islands and other continental areas from social, economic, environmental, ecological and cultural perspectives, the learning aspects of sustainability and as well as the sustainable challenges of governmental, nongovermental and market actors.
